Otto was born in Alton, Iowa. He never married. He was living in Marshall, MN in 1929, then went with with Pete to Martinez, California, in 1938, where they worked at Shell Oil company. Otto is buried in St. Mary's Cemetery in Alton, Iowa. He died after a long illness.
